Hartford Happenings

This is the first installment of Hartford Happenings for Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce members. Rome Smith & Lutz is one of the top lobbying firms in the state and we are happy to work with your Chamber to keep you updated on the weekly happenings in your state government to help make your voices better heard in Hartford.

John Harkins, former State Legislator and former Mayor of Stratford, will be leading the collaboration with your Chamber. You will be seeing a lot of John at various Chamber events. He has a unique insight into both state and local government, helping it work for you.

The 2022 Legislative Session of the CT General Assembly will convene on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 and adjourn on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. By the State Constitution, even year sessions are for fiscal issues. As such, state budget adjustments and employee contracts will take up a significant amount of time this session. As with all legislative sessions, there will be a number of bill proposals introduced that may directly or peripherally impact your business that we will be tracking for you. Please follow this column to keep yourself updated on activities in CT Government.
