Greetings from the President

The Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce offers volunteer opportunities, networking possibilities, help with marketing and so much more. If that’s not enough, joining the Chamber is also a great way to make a difference in the economic development of your community.

As with many things in today’s world, reasons for joining a chamber have changed over the years. However, the value of chamber membership remains a great investment and offers opportunities for you to grow your business as well as your professional network of contacts.

MRCC strives to inform our members of what is going on in our community, as well as inform the community of what is going on with our members. The Chamber uses many ways to communicate our message and the messages of our members, including our weekly newsletter, community events calendar, social media sharing and promotions.

We advocate fostering partnerships and collaborations between our member businesses. We are fully engaged with the city and all our business member groups – I am laser focused on building these relationships as we will all do better by doing better for each other. We have so many great organizations we want to help enhance and promote what these organizations do - not to compete, but to complement.

The MRCC remains a trusted resource for referrals. Those seeking information about our community and/or planning to relocate or visit often reach out to us. We receive dozens of requests weekly through email, our website, and social media. The website itself serves as a referral tool with our online searchable membership directory.

Members can utilize advertising and marketing opportunities through MRCC publications such as maps, directories, and social media. Members can also share job openings on the chamber website and within our newsletter. Your Chamber has many programs you can get involved in as a member or an employee of a member. Participants gain a wealth of knowledge about the Milford region as well as building professional relationships.

MRCC Ambassadors serve as volunteers for the Chamber at events, help retain current members and recruit new members. Chamber member companies receive value by participating in the Ambassador Program as their staff represents the member company in the greater community.

There is much to do – and to that end the MRCC is exploring some exciting new revenue opportunities, and new revenue opportunities have a direct correlation to providing more programming and education for our member organizations. One of those, coming in time for this holiday season – will be our “Give the Gift of Local” program with a Milford-Orange Gift Card. This will be a great way to support our local economy, most importantly, our local businesses, while providing the flexibility of use. The Milford-Orange Gift Card will be accepted at a wide variety of businesses, shops, and venues!  It will make the perfect gift, all while keeping it local! If you’re a service business interested in naming sponsorship opportunities, or a local business that wants to participate, contact Simon at smcdonald@milfordct.com.  We’ll be launching this program soon – so don’t miss out!

The MRCC offers many opportunities for your business and for you individually. From contests like Best Of, to programming like Lunch and Learn,  Panel Discussions, Webinars, and coming soon,  Legislative Round Tables, along with a renewed focus on advocacy, there is much to take advantage of.  If you want to make a difference in the Milford region then please share your talents and voice to an established organization like our Chamber. We can boost your message, your reach, and your results.  If you have any ideas – or innovative solutions to common business challenges – or just want to chat – please feel free to email me at mmoses@milfordct.com

Be well,
Michael
