Update from the Legislative Action Committee

General Assembly Committees are reaching their reporting deadlines. To be passed into law, bills must have a hearing and receive a favorable vote by the committee of origin by their reporting deadlines. After the Committees finish their work the action will shift to full House and Senate." By March 30th only Judiciary 4/7, Appropriations 4/27 and Finance Revenue & Bonding 4/28 will not have finished.

A legislative budget proposal, in response to the Governor's should be completed by 4/28.  No budget solution is in sight at this point. After that activity will shift to the full House and Senate.  The Legislature must adjourn by 6/7.

Here is the link to the bills we are tracking for the Chamber:

The site includes the bill's title, a brief description, any updates including public hearing dates, change of reference to other committees and votes. Most useful is a link that will allow chamber members to email legislators their opposition, support or concerns.

This list contains a number of bills that we are tracking for the Chamber. As the committee process begins to weed out bills that will most likely die, we will begin to segregate those bills to the bottom of the list. As Chamber members may be aware, this doesn't necessarily mean the bill's concept or intentions are dead as they can always be included in language later on.
