We are here to celebrate and support your business.

When to host a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chamber:
To make your ceremony a success, the Chamber will:
List your event on our website and announce your ribbon cutting in our weekly email newsletter, which reaches over 1,000 people. Local and state legislators, including our mayor, will be invited to attend and make remarks. We will also post your event on all of our social media channels.
Our Chamber staff will be on site with ribbon, scissors and a camera to capture your historic occasion. A staff person will also facilitate the entire ceremony for you, including introductions to VIPs and other Chamber members.
Photos of the event will be shared on the Chamber's social media, and will be added to the Member News section on our website. The best photos can be made available to you for your own marketing as well.
Prepare for Your Event:
1. Contact the Chamber to secure your date. Book at least two months in advance!
2. Once a date is agreed upon, provide the Chamber with event details, including:
3. Think about your event logistics, including:
4. Invite as many people as you can.
Tips for Success:
TIP 1: Avoid scheduling overlap over any significant regional events. The Chamber can help you choose the best available date.
TIP 2: Consider offering samples of your product or service to turn guests into clients. Also, a free drawing is a great way to collect contact information while rewarding attendees for coming.
TIP 3: Most ribbon cutting ceremonies include free light refreshments, especially when held during or surrounding a typical meal time.
TIP 4: Consider advertising. While not necessary, the Chamber has a variety of low-cost options, and can connect you with our member newspapers, radio stations, and more.
TIP 5: Invite everyone you know! Reach far and wide with your invitations.
TIP 6: Enjoy the event! Connect with guests and introduce them to your business.
After the Ribbon Cutting:
Continue to be active in the Chamber and promote your business! We have a wide variety of networking and educational events, and many low-cost advertising avenues.
