The First-ever Christmas Market on the Milford Green

November 13, 2019 - Nestled on the historic Milford Green under a canopy of soft Christmas lights lies the promise of something special for you and your kinfolk this Thanksgiving weekend. Feel transported to a magical holiday wonderland at The Milford, CT Christmas Market, the perfect place to gather and savor delicious food & drink and shop the marketplace full of the work of artisans.

As the air fills with the scent of sizzling bratwursts, apple streusel, and roasted nuts, sit down and enjoy authentic German holiday food with old friends and new acquaintances. This community-focused Christmas market offers hours of entertainment and fun, and you're bound to make a friend or two.

Wander the marketplace to find an abundance of holiday cheer. Shop for ornaments, baked goods, wreaths, chocolates, and much more. There's a plethora of unique gifts from 14 vendors throughout the entire event, which means you'll find something for everyone on your list.

Whether you are German or not, we promise you will feel like you are. Be sure to wear your Lederhosen as they transport you back to old Germany with authentic German music and a few crowd favorites by "Schachtelgebirger-Musikanten," or simply Scha-musi. A locally famous and super fun duo, they'll perform in the market from noon until 4pm on Saturday. Prost!

The Milford, CT Christmas Market was brought to the city by longtime Milford residents Jeffrey Albright and Stephen McCullough. Albright, a veteran airline pilot for United Airlines, fell in love with the outdoor German Christmas markets years ago on his many trips to Munich during the holiday season.

"I go to Germany once a week during the Christmas season. I immediately fell in love with the outdoor Christmas markets and thought they would be a wonderful addition to our picture-perfect green here in Milford," Albright says.

The Milford, CT Christmas Market will be open from 2pm to 9pm on Friday November 29th and 11am to 7pm on Saturday November 30th.
